Story for animation
For the current project, I will be creating a short 2-d narrative animation being at around the 2 minute margin. The animation doesn't contain any dialogue so the focus will be on the events that are happening throughout the animation. The story is based on a little girl taking her dog for a walk in the city for the dog's first visit. As it is the dog's first visit, a lot of the things he sees will be very fresh in his own eyes, however sometimes they tend to let their senses take over the mind as shown in the story. Very early in the story, the girl will be walking by a shop, lined up with people waiting to get their bite on the seemingly popular food. The sight catches the attention of the dog, which’s always hungry for food, rushes towards the person about to feast on his meal. The dog successfully takes the food away from the person; however the girl is not happy about that, she gathers her anger to release it on the naughty dog. The dog notices and starts running away from her and the owner chasing pet becomes the theme of the story.

New Semester \(o_o)/
During the 2nd semester, I will be working on a 2d narrative animation. It's my interpretation of a busy street through the eyes of a little girl. I chose to do so as something seemingly ordinary may be depicted in an unusual way which arouses interest from the viewer of the story.

The aim for the project is to create enough content for next semester’s short animation. It’s the preparation which will allow a friendlier environment for animating in the near future. I intended to use Maya 6.5 as my primary program as it is the only modeling program I learnt. However it has been for a minimum of 1and 1/2 years since I’ve used it, a lot of refreshing is needed to get familiar with it once again. For the texture part of the modeling I would use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, to create custom textures suitable for the project and my needs. Since everyone is busy going on with their project the refreshing stage I’d guess will be all on my own.

Scenery research #1
Project #2
For this project, I'm going to create a bridge for semester 2's major project by creating key sceneries and to establish a solid story to make the final animation possible. My story is based on the adventures of a little girl who got lost with her mother in the busy city of Tokyo. The viewers will be looking at the city from the little girls' perspective and what she encounters by herself around unfamiliar faces.

Yutaka Izubuchi - creator of Rahxephon series. It deals with people living in a created reality not knowing that things are different from what it used to be including changes that are happening to themselves.
The animation style is really clean and nice, often with shifts of in momentum of mood changing from a peaceful scene to a scene of panic and urgency.

Kazuya Tsurumaki- animation director for Gainax
One of his most well known works is the Neon Genesis Evangelion.
A lot of people have already know what this is about, one of the most interesting concept of this series is that the main protagonist all struggle mentally amongst their inner self. One evident and obvious relation to the project we're doing is that the character, Rei Ayanami is actually a genetic clone of Shinji Ikari's mother. A living being created through artificial methods. To others it does not even seem that she's any different as a human, but in reality she's a vessel for one of the 'angels' soul.
Images that I think would relate to the work I'm doing for the particular scenes.

The style of dress which I'm attempting to apply on a character on one of my scenes,
the image on the left also sets a mood similar to that scene I'm creating

Post human is interpreted by me of something beyond human not confined with the the norm restrictions of the human we know. The presumably dead may mean alive in this matter, or at the same time some may consider what is 'alive' dead as well. My story talks about the toying of live experiments trespassing the inner minds of the 'test subjects' invading their personal territory, their memories. To the right is my storyboard

My minute animation was created through hand drawn frame by frame. As it is my very first time engaging in this manner of method, there were a lot of experimenting throughout the process of the production. For referencing I primarily used myself to pose out for the actions and interpret from there to create the animat
ion.

Ghost in the Shell

From the futuristic 'police thriller': Ghost in the Shell. This animated movie approaches 'post human' through the means of a cybernetic organism (cyborg). Preserving the brain of a human it retains emotions just like a human. This synthesis of organic and synthetic parts allows a seemingly mechanic being consist of the ability to decide what is right and wrong, make their own decisions rather than follow a path of absolute orders. It has a unique style on the animation during it's time in 1995, influencing the hit movie "The Matrix".
